Why Phoenix Christian?
The opportunity to teach the Bible in a Christian atmosphere was the deciding factor for me. As we are all called to spread the “Good News”, to be able to do that in vocational ministry has been my goal for several years. When I was offered the opportunity to come here and be a part of this team, I believe it was God’s plan to place me here and give me the chance to make a difference in these kids lives.

1. List a favorite Bible verse and why it is a favorite/what does it mean to you.
John 1:5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
There is so much darkness in the world. Everywhere we look is darkness that is sometimes hard to comprehend. Jesus calls to follow His way and despite the darkness of the world, to be different and be a “light.” If we are that light, we can overcome the darkness around us.

2. What is something you do for fun when you’re not teaching?
I love the outdoors. Camping, fishing, anything to be out in God’s creation. It brings me closer to Him.

3. Who was your favorite teacher and why?
My current favorite teacher is Matt Chandler from the Village Church in Dallas. First, I love his honest no excuses style of teaching. He makes no excuses for God’s word because it’s God’s word. Secondly, he only has one sermon, the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

4. List a favorite quote (with attribution)
“The purpose of life, as far as I can tell… is to find a mode of being that’s so meaningful that the fact that life is suffering is no longer relevant.”
Dr. Jordan B. Peterson
