Private Christian education can be fully affordable. As a tuition-based school, we guide our families through a variety of scholarship opportunities.
The state of Arizona allows private school students to apply for tax-credit scholarships from School Tuition Organizations (STOs). Phoenix Christian strongly encourages all new and current students to apply for scholarships from multiple STOs each year. Tax credit scholarships are awarded only to students who have completed our enrollment process.
Any student enrolled at Phoenix Christian is eligible to apply.
Any student falling under one of the following
four categories may apply:
The student switched from a public to a private school after attending the public school for at least 90 days.
The student is a dependent of a member of the U.S. Armed Forces, stationed in Arizona.
The student is in Kindergarten.
The student has received Corporate or Overflow/PLUS scholarships in the past and has attended private school ever since.
These awards have the same eligibility guidelines as the Overflow/PLUS awards, plus additional family income guidelines.

applyStudents grades 7-12 must show a minimum 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (equivalent to a Phoenix Christian C average) during the student’s last year of school. Standardized test scores may be considered. Students grades 1-6 must show satisfactory academic performance at grade level. Students at all grade levels must show a satisfactory behavior record for the previous school year and no failing grades on the student’s most recent school transcripts. (Note: a one-time failing grade may not exclude a student from admission, but circumstances will be evaluated during the admission process to determine if admission can proceed.)
Students must 1) demonstrate a strong desire to attend and become part of Phoenix Christian Preparatory School, 2) satisfactorily interview with a school administrator, 3) demonstrate an understanding and commitment to follow school policies and procedures, and 4) understand that all classes will be taught from a Biblical worldview perspective. (Note: A student may be accepted on a probationary status if the above criterion are not satisfied based on the judgement of the administration. Such acceptance will require family and student agreement to the probationary terms and interventions.)
Yes, we encourage you to visit our beautiful campus near downtown Phoenix. Join one of our weekly tour groups, experience a virtual flyover of our campus, or check our calendar for upcoming Open House events.
Applications for all grade levels are available online only. The Admissions office does provide paper copies of required supplemental forms as needed.
Phoenix Christian welcomes students of all faith backgrounds, so church membership is not a requirement for admission. However, all of our faculty and staff members are of the Christian faith, and our curriculum and values are based on a Biblical worldview.
Phoenix Christian does not directly award student scholarships. Instead, our school partners with School Tuition Organizations throughout the state to help families secure tuition funding through tax credit scholarship programs.
