Board of Trustees
Phoenix Christian is governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees who give their time, experience and prayer to the school’s mission. Many first walked these halls as students, and many are PC parents and grandparents today. Meet the people guiding PC and hear, in their own words, why they serve.
Board Chair · Since 2022
Anthony Converti
Anthony first came to Phoenix Christian as an eighth grader and graduated in 2002, after playing on the only PC soccer team to win a state championship. Today he is a PC parent of three: one 2026 graduate and two current students. Anthony is VP of Lending at Lower Mortgage, with 14 years in mortgage, lending and underwriting and eight years in ministry. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Christian Studies and serves as President of the Council at Paradise Valley Lutheran Church, his home church.
Why I serve: “I serve on the Board because I believe wholeheartedly in the importance of providing students with a Christ-centered education that prepares them for a life of faith, leadership, and service. Above all, I see this opportunity as a way to use the gifts God has given me to serve His kingdom and make a lasting impact on the lives of students and families.”

Vice Chair · Since 2022
Chip Allison
Chip graduated from Phoenix Christian in 2002 and is now a PC parent. He is Principal of KODA, where he focuses on brand strategy, marketing, business strategy and leadership development. Chip earned a dual major in Business Marketing and Organizational Leadership Development at Trinity International University and serves on the Reshoring Textiles Advisory Board. His home church is Christ Church.
Why I serve: “I first walked these halls as a student, and today all three of my kids do. I said yes to the board because I know firsthand what PC gives its students, and I want to help make it even stronger for the next generation. My hope is that every student leaves here confident in who God made them to be and ready to lead wherever He sends them.”

Dennis Roges
Dennis is a retired financial professional, a CPA and CFP who earned a BS in Accounting from the University of Rhode Island and an MS in Taxation from Arizona State University. He brings experience in finance, ministry and board governance, and also serves with Life International Ministries and Choices Pregnancy Centers of Phoenix. Dennis has two daughters who graduated from PC and several grandchildren who are PC alumni or current students. He first got connected to the school by supporting its activities, along with longtime friendships with Superintendent Jeff Blake and Steve Woods. He attends Living Streams Church and, in his words, is “a CPA with personality (well some for an accountant).”
Why I serve: “I love the school’s impact on the next generation and want to use my gifting and experience to help it flourish in any way I can.”

Secretary · Since 2021
Stephanie (Ortman) Brigowatz
Stephanie’s Phoenix Christian story began with her parents, who went to PC. She graduated in 1995, and her four children have followed, from a 2025 graduate to the Class of 2038. Stephanie is a flight attendant, which fits, since she met her husband on an airplane. She earned a BA in Speech Communication from Northwest Nazarene University and brings fundraising experience to the board, though the credential she lists first is Mom. Her home church is Renovation Church.
Why I serve: “I love the missional aspect of Phoenix Christian. I love to be involved in a community that works together to spread the name of Jesus and that keeps Him first in everything.”
Favorite verse: Jeremiah 29:11
Past Chair · Since 2016
Steve Woods
Steve graduated from Phoenix Christian in 1983, and PC has shaped his life ever since: lifelong friendships, ministry and business partnerships, a printing career that followed his father’s, and meeting his wife. He is a past PC parent and a current PC grandparent. Steve owns PrintWoods, has served on the board of Printing Industries of Arizona and as a church elder, and calls North Phoenix Baptist home. He also hasn’t missed a day of aerobic exercise in more than 20 years.
Why I serve: “I agreed to serve on the PC board in large part to gain a seat at the table with some folks who I knew were wise and with whom I had been given an opportunity to walk. The passion the Lord has given me for PC is that each and every member of this ever-increasing community would fall madly in love with Jesus Christ and that along the way every student and employee would be wiser because of the relationships built through Phoenix Christian.”
A line that shapes how he serves: “He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.” (Jim Elliot)

A retired business owner and former senior college administrator, he brings experience in business, marketing, admissions and advancement. Pete earned his B.A. at Dordt University and attends Phoenix United Reformed Church. One thing you might not guess: he’s a garbageman at heart.
Why I serve: “I am a fervent supporter of Christ-centered education. Phoenix Christian Prep’s mission and vision is right in line with honoring Christ in all things.”
