Teacher directed activities include numbers, letters, days, months, seasons, Bible stories, songs, finger plays, and worksheets in basic concepts. Activities for the development of fine motor skills include coloring, cutting, gluing, and manipulating objects.
BIBLE Bible stories, scripture memory, prayer, and sharing time. Opportunity to ask for prayer and give thanks to God for special things. Bible characteristics Pledges to the Bible, Christian flag and American flag.
READING Recognize similarities and differences among pictures, shapes, letters and words. Identify details that are missing from pictures. Identify parts of objects and whole objects to which they belong. Follow directional paths from left to right and top to bottom. Recognize the 26 letters of the alphabet and the sound each one makes. Formation of the 26 upper and lower case letters of the alphabet.
MATH Develop appropriate math language. Match one-on-one. Understand quantity (more or less). Sequence events (before and after). Ordinal numbers (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc...). Recognize and print numerals 1 – 10.
CENTERS Home: Building social and self-help skills. Block: Building large and small motor skills. Puzzle: Critical thinking and eye-hand coordination. Art: Creativity through different art forms. Hands On: Critical thinking, patterning...
SOCIAL SKILLS The use of good manners, lining up, sharing, etc.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Introduction to Spanish Introduction to Sign Language
COMPUTERS Basic computer skills; eye–hand coordination.
P.E. (Physical Education) Development of large motor skills
SAFETY Preschool rules are learned by color. All students will participate in monthly fire drills and “code red” drills.
