Develop an appreciation for the abilities and talents of self and others. Foster mastery of skills and the desire to continue to learn throughout life. Student Goals: Experience in-depth learning in content areas through whole group and independent study. Participate in open-ended learning experiences. Use creative, critical, and logical thinking and problem solving in each subject area. Develop the ability and desire to become lifelong learners. Honors courses are designed to prepare junior high students for high school honors and Advanced Placement courses. Honors classes are graded on a 4.33 scale rather than a 4.0 scale, with the exception of Algebra and Geometry which are graded on a 4.0 scale. Honors Courses: Honors courses available in the Junior High include the following: Honors English, Honors Literature, Honors History, Honors Science, Honors Bible. Algebra and Geometry are also considered Honors courses although not designated as such.
