Professional Experience:

I am a print photojournalist in the AZ Army National Guard, and deployed to Iraq in 2008-09 as a video & radio broadcast journalist. As a citizen/soldier, I'm a citizen that works full time at PC, and a soldier one weekend a month and two weeks in the summer. Perhaps you've seen me around campus in uniform.

I bring a lot of experience to PC. I marched with the Colorado Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps from Denver CO. I was Drum Major for the 700+ All-American Band at the opening of Euro-Disney in France in 1992. I took an almost non-existent middle school band in Pinon, AZ to competition level in two years and I've worked with bands in the greater Phoenix area since 1984. I've helped the PC Band the past several years when AZNG duties permitted, as well as assisting the PC Field Ensemble and PC Winter Drum-Line in 2009-10.

Personal Testimony:

I believe that God has orchestrated all of my various experiences in life and brought me to Phoenix Christian for this specific moment in time. (Rom 8:28, Phil 1:6) I take seriously the great commission from Matt 28:19,20. "Therefore go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." My goal is to pass that desire on to my students.

Personal Information:

I have been married to wife Lorna (Ayres), PC class of `86, since 1989 and we have 3 beautiful daughters: Caitlin, PC class of 2010 and UA class of 2014; Darian, PC class of 2015; Reagan, future PC class of 2023. I'm a big fan of Drum Corps International and love traveling when possible. I love various types of music - from big band to rock; from Glen Miller to the Christian group, Skillet.
