Tuition Reduction Incentive Program (T.R.I.P.)

What is T.R.I.P.?

Our school makes available to all families a scrip-purchasing plan (TRIP—Tuition Reduction Incentive Program) that can help reduce your tuition.  By purchasing scrip, you earn a percentage back that goes directly into your tuition account.  We have many families that already actively participate but we want to be sure all families are aware of the program and understand how it works.

Below is a link to our current order form.  This form has the most popular stores and restaurants available to us.  It shows the denominations available for each business, as well as the tuition credit percentage that will go into your account when you place your order.  Orders are usually placed on Monday mornings (please have your order into the office by 9 a.m.) and are available for pickup on Friday.  We order year round.  During the school year, we order almost every week (except holidays or breaks).  We have an abbreviated schedule during the summer.  Payouts occur 3 times a year:  mid-April, mid-July, and mid-November.

We now also offer the ability to order online through http://www.shopwithscrip.com/.  This allows families to see everything that is available to us through our scrip company.  You can pay online using PrestoPay (they will charge a 39 cent fee), or you can opt to send your check in to school.  If ordering online, please have those orders placed by 8 a.m. on Monday mornings.  This way the orders will be incorporated into our regular weekly order schedule.

Families, friends and neighbors are welcome to participate.  They can either order with you on your order form or they can establish their own donor account and have the earnings donated to your student’s tuition account.  It’s a very simple process of enrollment:  you fill out a form with name and address, mark who the credit goes to and whether or not your student may pick up the order.  It’s that easy!  You earn tuition credit based on your order.  For example, if you order $100 in Fry’s cards, your tuition credit would be $5.00.  How much you earn is up to you.  Some of our families earn from $5 to $10 a week; some earn as much as $30 or $40 a week.  It all depends on what your needs are for that ordering period.

One of the concerns we’ve heard most often is that it’s hard to come up with $100 (as an example) at the beginning of the week for groceries but have to wait until the end of the week to receive your grocery cards.  We keep grocery gift cards in stock and many other restaurant & fast food, home improvement (i.e. Home Depot), Wal-Mart, Walgreen’s, and Harkins, just to name a few.  Come in to the office or give us a call to see if we have what you need on hand.  Once you’ve purchased a Fry’s or Bashas’ card from us you can also recharge those cards at the store and receive tuition credit.  We receive monthly reports from each store showing us all the recharges.

Our scrip program is a great way to help offset tuition bills.  We all have to grocery shop so you might as well receive some of that money back each time!  When it comes time to shop for the holidays the TRIP program is also a great way to earn additional tuition credit.  Your gift cards can either be used to purchase your gifts or you can give the cards as gifts themselves.

For any questions you may have about our scrip program, contact the school Business Office at 602-265-4707 ext. 225.  The Business Office can be reached Monday through Friday during normal school hours.  The TRIP coordinator is in the office on Mondays and Fridays.

 It’s as easy as 1-2-3!

  • Complete an  pdf icon order form.
  • Place an order on any Monday morning in the school office for the merchants of your choice. Make check payable to PCHS TRIP for the full face value of the Scrip certificates/gift cards you are purchasing. (It is not necessary for participants to order each week.) TRIP will run weekly except during school vacations. If volunteers are available, it will also run through the summer on a limited basis.
  • Orders are then processed. Certificates/gift cards may be picked up on Friday of the same week in the school office.
  • TRIP pays out tuition earnings to the school at the end of each semester in the name of the participating families who have earned credit. At the same time, statements are sent to each participating family and/or donor.
