What is T.r.i.p.?
Our school makes available to all families a scrip-purchasing plan (TRIP--Tuition Reduction Incentive Program) that can help reduce your tuition. By purchasing scrip, you earn a percentage back that goes directly into your tuition account. We have many families that already actively participate, but we want to be sure all families are aware of the program and understand how it works.
Below is a link to our current order form. This form has the most popular stores and restaurants available to us. It shows the denominations available for each business, as well as the tuition credit percentage that will go into your account when you place your order. Orders are generally placed on Monday mornings, and are available for pick-up on Friday. We order year round. During the school year, we order almost every week (except holidays or breaks). We have an abbreviated schedule during the summer. Payouts occur 3 times a year: mid-April, mid-July, and mid-November.
Families, friends, and neighbors are also welcome to participate. They can either order with you on your order form, or they can establish their own donor account and have the earnings donated to your student’s tuition account. It’s a very simple process of enrollment: you fill out a form with name and address, mark who the credit goes to and whether or not your student may pick up the order. It’s that easy! You earn tuition credit based on your order. For example, if you order $100 in Fry’s cards, your tuition credit would be $4.00. If you ordered $40 in Black Angus gift cards, your tuition credit would be $5.20. How much you earn is up to you. Some of our families earn from $5 to $10 a week; some earn as much as $30 or $40 a week. It all depends on what your needs are for that ordering period.
One of the concerns we’ve heard most often is that it’s hard to come up with $100 (as an example) at the beginning of the week for groceries, but have to wait until the end of the week to receive your grocery cards. We do keep grocery cards/certificates on hand at all times. If you wanted to purchase grocery scrip on the spot, that is possible. It’s also a great way to get you started in the TRIP program. Participating in the program may require a little bit of planning ahead. If you’re going to shop or eat in these places anyway, why not earn a little tuition credit for your student?
Purchasing scrip will help you to lower your tuition bills. It’s also a great idea for gift giving as well as your personal needs.
It’s as easy as 1-2-3!

Place an order on any Monday morning in the school office for the merchants of your choice. Make check payable to PCHS TRIP for the full face value of the Scrip certificates/gift cards you are purchasing. (It is not necessary for participants to order each week.) TRIP will run weekly, except during school vacations. If volunteers are available, it will also run through the summer on a limited basis.
-
Orders are then processed. Certificates/gift cards may be picked up on Friday of the same week in the school office.
-
TRIP pays out tuition earnings to the school at the end of each semester in the name of the participating families who have earned credit. At the same time, statements are sent to each participating family and/or donor.
