Why Christian Education?

Christian schools are a place where parents and educators choose to partner together to educate young people from a like-minded Christian worldview. Christian schools challenge students to critically examine what they think and believe in the context of how God sees them, as His creation. In Christian schools, students learn to see the world through the lens of the Word of God. Christian educators don't avoid the world; but rather, help students see it just the way it is: Created by God, distorted by sin, and restored again in Christ. Learning academic and life lessons in this manner is learning to use the truths of the Bible to interpret and respond to the world.

Contrary to popular opinion, Christian schools exist, not as a rescue, protection, or isolation strategy; but rather as a teaching and excellent training ground that strives to educate young people in light of God's Word and in light of eternity. In short, Christian schools enable parents to educate their children as God would expect them, if they were doing it themselves. This training ground has certain truths that differ based on either biblical or secular educational perspectives. For example:

  Biblical Truth  Secular Truth
Life  Life is created; life has meaning
We and the world are an accident
Truth
God's Word; ordered world
There is no absolute truth
Sin Sin is real; Jesus saves us from it
There is no such thing as sin
Self I am loved by God
I am irrelevant beyond function
Others
All people are created in God's image
Others are strangers; even burdens
